The new Whitehouse development is located on the western flank of Milton Keynes, bordering Watling Street and close to the Milton Keynes Centre, Stony Stratford and the M1 motorway. The development has views over the Buckinghamshire countryside, with close direct access to woodlands and forests.
The new sustainable community has a walkable neighbourhood centre at its heart. It is a place where living, working, learning and leisure are close to all residents. A new Direct Rapid Transport solution, combined with a local bus service, enables residents to have quick and easy access to all parts of Milton Keynes. The area is sought after for daily commuters to London as there are direct trains from London to Milton Keynes.
Whitehouse will be the location of a range of new homes, jobs, community facilities, three primary schools and a secondary school, a new health centre, indoor sports and other leisure facilities, with different open spaces and play areas. All of these will be within a 5-10 minute walk for local residents.
Three ponds have already been created as part of the Sustainable Urban Drainage system, with two more to be constructed during future development phases. Whitehouse Primary School and the Watling Academy have both now been completed and occupied. Construction of the second primary school, Calverton Primary School, is expected to begin very soon and the first enrollment is expected to take place for the 2023/2024 academic year.
As the Whitehouse development progresses, further community benefits will be provided, such as even more public open spaces, sports pitches, allotments, orchards and play areas. Alongside the now open Health Centre, care and extra care facilities will be provided, as well as a supermarket, pub and retail units.
