The track between Wolverton and Great Linford is flat and 3.2 miles long. The starting point, at Wolverton, is approximately 2 miles from Fairfields and 3 miles from Whitehouse.
Along the route of the Lost Track are many cultural and beauty spots to be enjoyed. These include:
- The Secret Garden: a former derelict piece of land that has been transformed into a garden by the local community.
- Railway Mural: a long black and white mural of a steam train by Bill Billings, completed in 1984.
- Milton Keynes Museum: a hands-on museum featuring a Victorian schoolroom, street of shops, connected earth gallery and tearoom.
- Bradwell Windmill: a working windmill, open for visitors on Sundays during summer months.
- Milton Keynes Arts Centre: arts centre which runs courses and workshops for families and adults.
